CROWLEY CHEESE NEWS - HEALDVILLE, VERMONT
This holiday season brings mixed news from Crowley Cheese...
The good news is Hurricane Sandy largely spared us [this time]. This is in marked contrast to Hurricane Irene, which wrought tremendous destruction all around Vermont. We are thinking of those of you in hard-hit states south of us and wish you a speedy recovery.
Thanks to all of you, sales have increased significantly each year since Crowley changed hands in 2009. Because we've sold so much cheese this year, we have a limited supply of some of our cheeses for the holidays. In particular, we have very little Sharp cheese in inventory. Yet thanks to the hard work of our cheesemakers, we have plenty of Mild and Medium Sharp. We have most of our flavored cheese available as waxed bars. Although we do not have any of our seasonal Fresh Chive remaining, our Garlic Chive is a very popular alternative.
And our best news — as feedback suggests this is the overwhelming customer favorite — we still have a healthy supply of aged 2+ years Extra Sharp (aka "Unusually Sharp"). Crowley Extra Sharp has a distinctive earthy tanginess that stands up to many cheeses that are aged for much longer, yet still retains the signature Crowley creaminess. This unique flavor/texture combination makes for a pleasing, memorable mouthful of cheese which friends and family will certainly appreciate.
Once again, we are offering holiday medley gift boxes for sale, including various delicious, distinctive Vermont artisanal food products that complement our cheese particularly well. Our ever-popular handmade wooden cheese boxes and cutting boards are also available, along with Crowley t-shirts.
You can also order online at any time. If you're on our mailing list, you should be receiving our holiday mailer with details on our holiday offerings. Please don't hesitate to call or email us with questions. Remember, you can also find up-to-date information about us on Facebook and Twitter. Thanks again for your continued patronage.
